Meet the newest members of the Sitback Team
April was a busy month here at Sitback and we had a number of new people join our team. While we’d love to invite you all around to our place to introduce them in person, we thought that a slightly more practical start would be to introduce them on our Blog first.
So, without further ado, meet our new faces:

Tell us about yourself and what you’ve done on your way to Sitback?
I am a UX professional with 10 years of experience in human centred design. I have worked in various domains ranging from digital, graphics, interaction, automobile and products. I believe in the research-based design process and that 90% of any design problem can be solved just by understanding the user, his behaviour and the environment. In the past, I have taught design thinking and principles to design professionals and also currently acting as a UX mentor with IxDA Sydney.
I worked with Sitback for a little less than three months last year on a project and I really liked the approach that the team takes while delivering exceptional design solutions. I joined a government organisation later but coming back to Sitback was inevitable as I always missed the madness and fun here. Along with a great location, Sitback also offers a great office culture and an opportunity to work on some really interesting projects.
What are you most looking forward to in your new position?
In my new role as a UX lead, I look forward to growing myself and the team personally and professionally while delivering exceptional UX solutions to the clients using well established scientific methodologies and with the help of a super talented team.
What makes you tick / what are your interests outside of work?
When I am not working on a project, I keep myself updated with the evolving technologies. My latest interest is in understanding and exploring the potential of VR and AR in the future and how it is going to change the way we perceive the world. I spend most of my idle time with my daughter and wife exploring new places and travelling or just watching some series on Netflix.

Tell us about yourself and what you’ve done on your way to Sitback?
I’m from Cork in Ireland and I became an Aussie citizen on St Patricks day 2 years ago. I have a 17-month-old son, Rory, who loves to walk his imaginary dog and my partner Sam is half Kiwi/half English, so the battle for who Rory will support in the rugby is on! (Obviously Ireland – 6 nations grand slam champions 2018).
I began my PM career in London in 2005 as a junior and have spent the last 13 years working across a range of agencies, most recently spending six years at Orchard in Surry hills where every day is an eclectic adventure (Man walking a goat, drug deals going down, etc).
What are you most looking forward to in your new position?
DONUT-TRON 6000 winning Robot Wars & working with all you lovely people.
What makes you tick / what are your interests outside of work?
I love food, puppies, dogs, cats and all animals really. I’m into mental and physical wellness, meditation, self-development, exercise (read: thinking about exercising) and I can’t wait for season 2 of The Handmaids Tale.
Linh McDermott – Senior UX Designer

As a UX Designer I have been contracting for most of my career, within companies like Nokia, Optus, BT Finance, White Agency and Commonwealth Bank.
What are you most looking forward to in your new position?
I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can in this new role. I enjoy being involved in guerrilla user testing, cool wireframe prototyping and being on-site doing user testing.
What makes you tick / what are your interests outside of work?
I’m into meditation, coaching, personal development, art and dancing.
What do you reckon? Yep, we think they’re great too! We’re really looking forward to seeing them put their stamp on their roles and contributing to the overall Sitback culture. If you want to say hello in the flesh, feel free to drop by Sitback HQ – Bring a sketch pad and some problems to solve and we’ll show you what they’re made of.
